Rubber Edge Trim Seals are usually used to provide effective seals around windows, doors, hoods and trunks, hatches, etc. These products are the ideal solution for providing weatherproof seals that are impervious to the elements and degradation from ozone and UV light. Letu Automotive has provided custom molded and extruded trim seals to many vehicle programs of leading OEM’s in China. A commonly used type of trim seal is a bulb seal. This type of product is often used to provide seals on vehicle windows. Consisting of a retainer section of harder rubber and a flexible bulb of softer rubber, bulb seals offer excellent resistance to water, sunlight, and ozone.

Materials we often use in the manufacture of rubber edge trim seals are EPDM and silicone rubber. EPDM is a synthetic rubber that withstands temperature extremes and exhibits excellent resistance to UV light. Fire-resistant grades of EPDM are also available. Silicone rubber is a preferred material choice for automotive edge trim seals where low toxicity and reactivity to chemicals are required.
